LOCATION:
Morgan County Public Library—Main Branch (Martinsville)

DATES:  Entries must be brought to the Main Branch of the Morgan County Public
Library by Friday, September 30th by 5:00 p.m.

Awards:
Wednesday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m.

POEMS DISPLAYED:
Winners are displayed during the month of October.

CHARGE OR FEE: None

 

REGISTRATION:  Applications available at the Morgan County Public Library, and available for download from both the library and the FFF websites.

An application form must be stapled to the back of each poem entered.

DO NOT put your name on the front of the poem!

AWARDS:  Plaques will be given to 1st place winners.

Monetary awards will be given to all categories.  Winners will

receive $25 for first place, $15 to second place, and $10 to third

place.

Awards are given to the winners at the Morgan County Public

Library from representatives of the Fall Foliage Festival Board

and the Morgan County Public Library.

POETRY CONTEST RULES”

The Morgan County Public Library is sponsoring the 2022 Fall Foliage Festival Poetry Contest. The contest is open to any Morgan County resident.

Theme: “Celebrating 200 Years of Fall”

Categories: Adult, high school, middle school participants will write poems with a maximum of 45 lines, a minimum of 15 lines. Elementary students (including grades 5 & 6) will write poems with a maximum of 10 lines and a minimum of 5 lines.

Format: All entries must follow the theme, “Celebrating 200 Years of Fall.” Entries are to be typed or neatly printed and must have a poetry contest identification form stapled to the back of the poem.

DO NOT put your name on the poem. Each entry must be the work of the person entering the contest. A participant may enter more than one poem.

Deadline: Entries must be brought to the Main Branch of the Morgan County Public Library by Friday, September 30th at 5:00 p.m.

Awards: Awards will be presented Wednesday, October 5 at 6:00 p.m., at the Morgan County Public Library– Main Branch in Martinsville.

Judging: All entries will be judged. DO NOT sign the poems – Sign ONLY the entry form.
